VirtueMart Registration Redirect
I was recently setting up a VirtueMart eCommerce store for a customer. VirtueMart has its own login module that you use, but what I was finding was that there were links to the Joomla! login pages that could be accessed on the site. When you got to one of the Joomla! login pages, the registration link was pointing to the Joomla! registration page, not the VirtueMart registration page.
This is a problem because if a user registers using the Joomla! registration form the VirtueMart user information is not created and the store misses collecting information that it will need for when the user tries to purchase an item. When this user then goes to try to purchase something from your store, they will get an error message that they are an invalid shopper.
I searched the Joomla! extensions directory and the VirtueMart extensions directory to see if anyone had a plugin to solve this problem. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a solution for Joomla! 1.5. I therefore had to write a plugin which will redirect any Joomla! registration links to the VirtueMart registration page.
