KC Admin QuickIcons moduleI needed a way to add some more Quick Icons to the Administrator backend Control Panel in Joomla! 1.5. Many of the components and extensions that you add to your Joomla! site don't have a quick icon link in the Control Panel which most uses find very handy. I wrote this module so I could go into the module parameters and easily add whatever quick icon links I needed for the site.

The QuickIcons that comes with Joomla was fine, I just needed a really quick and easy way to add more Quick Icons. I searched the JED and found that someone had written a component that would replace the existing QuickIcons in Joomla! as well as allow you to add more Quick Icons. I didn't need to replace existing icons, I just wanted to add to them. I found the component was more powerful than I really needed and I didn't want to add another extension that woud need updating, to my sites.

I wrote a module which allows the administrator to add up to 10 more QuickIcons to the control panel. Each Icon has a label, a link, an image which can be either one of the khepri template header images or you ca supply your own custom icon and you can define the access level that the icon is displayed for. All you need to do is go to the Module Manager's Administrator modules and edit the module parameters for the KC Admin QuickIcons module when ever you want to add a quick link to somewhere in the Administrator backend of Joomla!.

You can find more information about this module: KC Admin QuickIcons on our extensions site: www.keashly.net.

Hello,

Your module looks like its just what I need but on my server I'm getting errors installing: "JFolder::create: Infinite loop detected
Unable to create destination" then
Warning: strpos() [function.strpos]: Offset not contained in string in /home/mysite/public_html/libraries/joomla/filesystem/archive/zip.php on line 325

I unzipped to look at line 325 and the file has no extension and appears to be encrypted?

Hi Jim,

I think you must have a bad copy of the zip file. Please try downloading it and installing again.

The software is not encrypted.
